Heat pump and air conditioner installation in Kennewick
A replacement system planned from the house outward: load calculation first, equipment second, and a crew that starts it up and explains it before they leave.
Chapter 01
Why a replacement sized by rule of thumb goes wrong
When a furnace or heat pump is picked by square footage and whatever the old unit happened to be, the house pays for it for years. The system short-cycles, starting and stopping before it finishes the job. One bedroom runs hot while the living room stays cold. A new heat pump gets bolted onto old ductwork that was never sized for it and whistles through every register. None of that shows up on install day. It shows up the first long July stretch in the Tri-Cities, or the first hard cold snap in January.
Jacobs and Rhodes starts with the house instead of the box. The Comfort Engineer process opens with an initial consultation, then a load calculation and an energy-efficiency assessment, and only then a customised system selection followed by a cost estimate and proposal. The order matters: the equipment is chosen to fit the numbers, not the other way around. The company has installed more than 9,000 heating and cooling systems in the Tri-Cities, and this is how each new one gets planned. Questions before you commit go to the office at (509) 783-3121.

Listen. Design. Deliver.
Every replacement runs on those three steps. Listen is the in-home visit, where someone asks how the house actually lives: which rooms fight the weather, what bothers you about the current system, what you want the new one to do. Many people start earlier with the free online replacement quote, three quick steps that end with three replacement options and a scheduled visit. However you begin, the tone is set at the door. No hard sell happens in any of our discussions.
Deliver is install day, and it is where a family shop shows. Floors and finished surfaces are protected before equipment comes through the door. The old equipment is removed and disposed of, and the ductwork is inspected as part of the process. When new ductwork is needed it is fabricated in the company’s own sheet metal shop at 4825 W. Clearwater Ave, where Christian Stewart works as sheet metal fabricator and a plasma table cuts the steel. Ryan Lund is the install coordinator and Nick Ruff the install field supervisor. The job ends with testing and calibration, a full start-up and systems check, and a walk through the finished system so you know what you are looking at.
Chapter 03
After the install: follow-up, maintenance and the guarantee
Installation is step three of five. Step four is a follow-up visit, and step five is maintenance. Ted’s Comfort Club is the Jacobs and Rhodes preventative-maintenance plan, and regular maintenance is what extends the lifespan of a new Daikin or Lennox system and catches small problems before they become a no-heat call. Installed products are also registered to maximise rebates, which is paperwork that is easy to lose track of when the old system has just died.
Every new install is backed by a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee, and the promise is short enough to repeat word for word: If you’re not satisfied, we’ll fix it for free! It sits alongside the license numbers the company works under, ELECTRICAL/HVAC ROC#JACOBRI860DP and GENERAL ROC#JACOBR*342LF, and a name that goes back to Larry Jacobs in 1961, now carried by owners Gary and Jake Lysher.

What customers say after an install
These are quotes the company publishes from its own customers. Financing and rebates are covered on the financing page, and service after the install is on the repair and maintenance page.
“I had researched five other companies before selecting Jacobs and Rhodes. I like how they were knowledgeable, easy to talk to, no-nonsense, but friendly.”
“A straightforward, honest approach, knowledge of equipment. Quick to point out what’s best for you and having your back.”
“They gave me an honest opinion. It starts with the people that represent the company. They’re courteous and polite.”
